of The National Park Service

5am The 16th St. Croix International Marathon

5am The 6th St. Croix Marathon Relay

6am The 43rd Virgin Islands Half-Marathon

7am The St. Croix 10K

Participants...

competitors include:

open and age-group male and female in each race

to include schools in the relay,

must be 18 or older to compete in the marathon and half-marathon, walkers invited...

The entire community is invited to participate...for non-competitors...

(do as many laps as you desire...count and time your own laps if not in a race)

on Saturday December 16 from 10am to 2pm

at Twin City Cafe on Company St. in Christiansted

Marathon $30

Marathon Relay Team $350

Half-Marathon $30

10K $30

Non-Racer No fee

Note: The marathon and the half-marathon are V.I. National Championships

and the 10K are sanctioned by:

The Virgin Islands Track and Field Federation...

VITFF/V.I. runners are eligible for a competition grant to cover their registration fee...

Awards...

Awards will be made to the top male and female finishers in each race...

Each participant will receive a race certificate

Each participant will receive a race t-shirt

Note: The focus this year is on the V.I. hurricane recovery so the marathon will benefit from the previous marathons held and will be a continuation of those events and will use the awards for those events for 2017. The reason? There are not enough funds to do otherwise. The t-shirts will be ordered following the event, the awards will be labeled accordingly...

For those who are unable to travel to St. Croix to participate,

V.I.Pace is setting up V.I.Pace Runners Virtual Races to include specific runs on the annual V.I.Pace Runners Calendar. The marathon, half-marathon, marathon relay and 10k included...more on this later...

Given the circumstances associated with the impact of the hurricanes,

it has been a challenge to seek and acquire financial sponsors for this year's event...

The Virgin Islands Pace Runners is a non-profit organization

with pending 501 (c) 3 status and welcomes donations and purchase of

advertising for the event...
