The 24th Annual Virgin Islands Half-Marathon--Freedom Run recognized the 150th Anniversary of the Emancipation of Slavery in the Danish West Indies. The special course utilized the Centerline Road, now known as Queen Mary Highway. The race finished near the exact spot where the Emancipation took place in 1878. 7. Seaman reflects on child hood memories, "It is here where the Upper Love Gut flows behind Holly Cross Church and "the biggest eels were to be found". 8.
