The St. Croix Metric Mile is run in Estate Upper Love from St. John’s Episcopal Church to the Dept. of Agricultural Fair Grounds. The point-to-point course is flat and fast and it gives runners or all ages the opportunity to test their speed after the cross-country season. The Virgin Islands Pace Runners thanks the owners of Annaly Farms for providing the location for the registration of the runners for this race over the years. This year the race was switched from the afternoon to the morning when automobile traffic is minimal. This is for the benefit of children who have increased the number of runners in the event.
The next V.I.Pace Runners event is The Annual Cane Bay 5 Mile Road Race to be held on Saturday December 18 at 7am. The race starts and finishes at the Cane Bay Beach on the North Shore Road.

12-13-08 St.Croix, Virgin Islands--Billy Bohlke, commercial pilot, had the unusual experience of being 18,000 feet in the sky and flying the Bohlke Airways commercial plane from Nevis to St.Croix just minutes before the start of the annual V.I.Pace Runners St.Croix Metric Mile Road Race. Seymour led the race through this point until less than just a few meters to the finish where Bohlke had flashbacks and called on the experience of his college days as the top miler at LSU (Louisiana State University). “I suddenly was in a race like in college when I realized that this is the time, this is when I have to finish the race. That’s where I learned how to press at the finish, to change the pace and close the gap.” His time for first place in his first time to run it was 4 minutes and 7 seconds.
